Bayes Addition

This addition was to add a master suite with full bath and expand kitchen by 200%.

The initial challenges were the gas “main” entering in on the side we intended to expand. Along with the water and sewer lines not far away. This proposed a significant challenge to keeping the utilities operating while we were also adding footage to the home.
The total expansion added 800 Square feet to the home and significantly improved its usability.

One of the greatest challenges and a common request was, to make a transition from the original kitchen area to the new space with no visible seam. This required us to have a structural beam laminated, install temporary bracing to relieve downward stress from the second floor, cut floor joists back, slide beam into position, attach joist hangers and remove temporary bracing. As is seen in the finished product, the ceiling transitions flawlessly from the original structure to the new addition.

ALL the cabinet design is our own and was performed on-site by me and my team. The cabinet features Soft Close Drawer Guides and Soft Close Hinges. The Stainless “open” shelving is from IKEA.
